What is your WHY for working out?

Our modern lifestyle lends itself to repetitive motion injuries, unnatural postures, and the various aches and pains associated with aging. But it doesn’t have to be that way! At balance studio, our focus on creating healthy, functional movement patterns and alignment is a key part of our training philosophy.

Our ultimate goal is to help you feel better in the body you live in, and therefore improve your ability to experience life with zest and ease. Our trainers are experts at meeting you where you are in your journey and will help you to be your personal best (not anyone else’s!) We’ll work to get you stronger and more flexible, so you can keep doing (or get back to doing) all of the things you love to do.

We believe anyone can work out and feel better in their bodies, regardless of age or fitness level.

Our community is unmatched, and you will receive overwhelming support from our staff, our trainers, and the friends you are sure to make at the studio. You’ll come for the workout, but leave with so much more!

balance studio was founded by Susan Smith Burns, a Teacher Trainer for The Pilates Standard, with a Master of Science in Health Fitness Management. balance studio has been serving the greater Maryland fitness community since 2001 and has been built on the philosophy that the power of good movement in a supportive environment repairs bodies, heals minds, and vastly improves lives!
